I came to Cardin and Miller in a lot of pain due to severe stenosis in my low back and neck, osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia. I have nothing but excellent things to say about this business, from the receptionist to the physical therapists, including Derrick, Rebecca and Racheal. They are highly professional, extremely helpful, very knowledgeable, kind, caring and compassionate. They are top notch physical therapists. Due to their care and treatment plan, I am getting stronger, and the pain is lessening each week. I highly recommend Cardin and Miller as their therapists definitely produce great results for patients like me. I am very grateful and appreciative for them.
Plantar Fasciitis
I have worked with multiple therapists over the years at Cardin & Miller. I credit Shannon with helping me recover from Bell's Palsy. I also learned about exercises and stretches to do to manage my Plantar Fasciitis, and I've worn custom orthotics in the past. I recovered from an auto accident 14 years ago and regained the mobility and ability to hike with my family even though the doctor told me I may need to have my ankle fused. Steve got my back recovered from a slipped disc a couple years ago. I am currently working with Derrick and Alex to strengthen my knees and manage osteoarthritis. I highly recommend Cardin & Miller to all of my friends and co-workers! Brian even went back and straightened out claims with my insurance company last year that were not billed and at the correct level and saved me a lot of money. They are a top level company!

Your doctor is an important member of the medical team, and we are happy to work with them to help get you back on your feet! Many primary care doctors will recommend extended periods of rest (often times weeks) between appointments for clients with concussion. One frustrating outcome is that symptoms occasionally worsen during rest periods. After 3 weeks of waiting (and feeling worse), the client follows up with their doctor and is THEN referred for Concussion Therapy at our clinic. Getting an assessment with one of our experienced concussion therapists sooner than later is the best way to ensure that you are doing everything that you can to expedite your recovery.

We will get you in to see us quickly and get started on fixing the true cause of the issues you are having instead of just treating the symptoms with pills, shots or surgery.

Amy began working with Cardin and Miller Physical Therapy in September of 2006. She began her career in the healthcare industry with a leading area orthopedic surgeon and physical therapy practice. That professional experience then paved the way for positions as a surgical pre- and post-operative technician, an ABO certified optician, and a front desk and billing specialist for a leading area ophthalmology practice. Amy has built upon the skills she has received from her previous positions and continued education to provide exceptional knowledge and direction to the staff and patients of Cardin & Miller Physical Therapy.

Lauryn joined the Cardin and Miller team in the summer of 2020. She graduated from The University of Vermont with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise and Movement Science and a minor in Behavioral Health Change Studies. During her time working with Parkinson’s and Multiple Sclerosis patients in college she discovered a passion for improving movement, function and relieving pain in individuals. Miranda has spent her career in outpatient orthopedics. Her professional experiences have led her to focus on manual therapy, gait, and movement re-training. Miranda has always been personally and professionally involved in sports and the athletic population. She enjoys working with athletes on injury prevention and rehabilitation as well as sports performance and has had the privilege to work with multiple local sports organizations. She also has a special interest in the foot and ankle joints. She has trained with certified pedorthists and physical therapists in the prescription and fabrication of custom functional and accommodative orthotics.

I was having severe neck and shoulder pain for over a month due to a compressed vertebrae and a pinched nerve before coming to Cardin & Miller to see Amanda. She was incredibly helpful and catered my exercises to what I could tolerate from a pain perspective. I would highly recommend this team, they're incredibly caring and knowledgeable!
Hip Replacement
Absolutely, ALL of our Physical Therapists specialize in the restoration of joint mobility, muscle flexibility, and strength that are needed after ankle, shoulder, knee and hip replacement. It is very important to get the joints working properly again and to ensure that you are walking properly (if the surgery you had affects your lower extremity).
Knee Replacement
2 years ago C&M helped me with my left knee diagnosis of severe arthritis, a torn meniscus, bone spurs, and a baker cyst-- all very painful. I sought your help and you treated me with an excellent PT program, including fitting me for orthotics and the "game-changer" knee brace. I faithfully kept up with my stretches, exercises, & wearing the orthotics, & knee brace, and going to the U Medgym. It helped me to live my life as best as i could over these past 2 years. This summer I knew it was time for the knee replacement. I'm happy to report that since the surgery, (3 weeks ago) the C & M Physical therapy rehab program has gone well--- because i chose to do the pre-surgery exercises and post-surgery ones. Exercise is the key to success and i couldn't have as for better therapists in my journey. Thank you Steve and Alex. Life is what you put into it, and having the right therapy team makes the difference.

Frozen Shoulder
I have sought help on two occasions from Cardin and Miller. In the first case I was helped very much by Steve Miller using approaches in dealing with sciatica that no other provider had used. I had been to various physicians and other practitioners prior to that, all to no avail. On the second occasion I was dealing with a frozen shoulder after a fall. The physical therapist, Rebekah Evangelista, was successful in helping me regain my range of motion. I highly recommend the therapists at Cardin and Miller.
Slipped Disc
I loved my time at Cardin and Miller! My back was so crooked from a slipped disc. I was in a ton of pain and they helped straighten me out and get me on the road to recovery. I have always been a physically fit person, and yet after my first and then again after my second pregnancies, my back "went out". Prior to PT I tried doing my normal physical exercise but would end up hurting myself (and I wasn't even doing anything extreme!). I needed guidance to help my body re-learn how to coordinate it's muscles.I also brought my 9 month old daughter with my to my appointments and everyone was so nice to her! They saw her learn to walk over my time there! She also was the "weight" in my pushing exercise and she got a kick out of that! My son also came with me for the second round. I so appreciate the family friendly-ness of the office!THANK YOU Cardin and Miller!

Shannon specializes in treating orthopedic conditions and vestibular disorders. She has attended many continuing education courses; manual therapy, McKenzie method for neck and back pain, as well as vestibular rehabilitation. Shannon enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons at various sporting, school and scouting activities, as well as hiking, camping, and paddleboarding.

Brian has been practicing Physical Therapy since 1994. Most of his therapy career has been spent in Central Pennsylvania, with a 2 year hiatus in Central Ohio. His undergraduate schooling was done locally at Central Penn College, Slippery Rock University, and Penn State at Harrisburg. His professional training as a Physical Therapist was completed at the University of Findlay, in Findlay, Ohio. He received his pedorthic training at Temple University's School of Podiatric Medicine.

I was having severe pain in my ankle - it was like having a badly sprained ankle all the time! I had gone to my foot doctor several times complaining about it. After my third visit to my foot doctor, he sent me to see Steve Miller at Cardin & Miller in Carlisle, PA Steve Miller was able to diagnose my problem just by watching me walk! Not only was he able to diagnose my problem, but was able to prescribe orthotics for me that totally took away all my pain! I tell Steve Miller that he is "My Hero"! I tell him that he should have been a doctor! He has such a SPECIAL GIFT and the VAST PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE he has is beyond description! Had a wonderful experience at the Harrisburg office. I was there once for plantar fasciitis and ones for issues with my hand and wrist. Both Miranda and Mariano are caring and very competent. I always felt that I was given the best information for a rapid recovery, allowing me to get back to the things that I like to do. Unlike other other offices that I have been to, not Cardin and Miller related, I really felt like I was getting the most I could in a difficult situation.I would highly recommend.
