Dr. Brothers grew up in Bend, Oregon, in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains. She earned a dual Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Sciences and Biology from the United States Air Force Academy, Colorado. At graduation, she was commissioned as an Air Force Officer, and was assigned to the School of Aerospace Medicine at Brooks AFB in San Antonio, TX. After performing medical research for 5 years, she resigned her commission as Captain in the U.S. Air Force and moved to Dallas to attend the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. Dr. Brothers completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. She was so enamored by the environment of “evidence-based medicine,” teaching, and patient-friendly care at Baylor that she chose to remain there to pursue private practice in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Brothers has been in private practice for over 16 years at Baylor, providing women of all ages, ethnicities, and backgrounds with choices and guidance through all of their gynecologic needs. Dr. Brothers prides herself with the ability to walk a patient through treatment options based upon her individuality, from contraceptives for an athlete or an executive, to alternative birthing experiences for women who desire minimal intervention, to management of heavy menstrual cycles.
