        Mesquite Recreation Department offers more than 100 year-round programs and services for youth and adult residents. The department oversees the maintenance various handicap accessible playgrounds in Rugel, Tosch, Galloway, Blackwood, Shands, Florence, Lawrence, Motley, Range, Brandy Station, Hanby, McWhorter, Rutherford and Seabourn parks. Located in Mesquite, Texas, it serves more than 3,000 individuals. The department s programs include summer playgrounds, teen trip adventure, sports mania, team sports instruction, swimming activities, adult fitness, hiking and sport programs, and adult and family trips. It also hosts Halloween parade, Easter egg hunt, fall flag football, fall and winter basketball league, arts and crafts competitions, and cooking and babysitting courses. Additionally, the recreation department maintains more than 100-acres of property, including parks, playgrounds, recreational spots, and athletic fields. It provides online information, and distributed brochures to public and private schools.

        The PD of Mesquite, Texas

        As a citizen of Mesquite , Texas, I am thoroughly disgusted with the actions of its Police Department! ANYONE, yes, ANYONE can call in, tell lies, and they are gullible enough to believe them. This has happened to me over and over and over! Today, (October 2, 2009), I made a simple, short trip to the pet store for dog food (at my husband's request). Know ing how bizarre things can be, I drove very, very carefully. A pickup almost ran over me, so I honked at him. Well, someone called the stupid PD, told them I was driving unsafefully, hit two curbs, etc. ALL OF THIS IS A BIG FAT LIE!!! I NEVER was near ANY curb! So, they would rather believe a lie than the truth!!! Enough, already!! They made my husband pick me up and are now threatening me. They need to act better. Enough is Enough!!
