About 2 years ago, I had an incident where my eye was poked with a fork that caused a pretty severe coronary abrasion. I thought it might heal on it's own, but the searing pain persisted for 24 hours. I couldn't sleep because closing my eye hurt too bad and opening it was worse. I went to urgent care on a Saturday, and they told me It was vital that I see an ophthalmologist. They called Dr. Patel. His office was closed for the weekend, and he was at his son's cub scout meeting. Due to the severity of the situation, he met me at his office anyways and quite literally saved my eye. It's been two years, and my eye is perfectly fine. I owe this man a huge 'Thank You'.

Normally, both eyes move together, receiving the same image on corresponding locations on both retinas. The brain fuses these matching images into one three-dimensional image that you know as your normal vision.
