Colonoscopy

An implantable loop recorder is invisible and doesn’t interfere with your daily activities. The pharmacy at Colquitt Regional Medical Center prepares and distributes medications prescribed by each patientâ€™s physician while the patient is hospitalized. A pharmacist is on duty or on-call at all times. A computerized pharmacy management system with unit dose distribution ensures that the right medication is delivered to patients at the times prescribed by their physician. Commonly used medications are kept in secure Pyxis medication stations located in each patient care area for convenience. In addition to unit dose medications, the pharmacy prepares IV admixture solutions for intravenous infusion, including total parental nutrition (TPN) and cancer chemotherapy. Home IV admixture therapy is provided by the pharmacy through Colquitt Regional Medical Centerâ€™s Home Health Services. Pharmacists are also available to answer patientsâ€™ questions about a particular drug or drug therapy during normal business hours.

Hip Replacement
Hip replacement is done through a surgical incision. The process involves removing the worn out joint and replacing it with articulating prosthetic components. This procedure may be done through a variety of incisions. Anterior approach limits the amount of muscle involved in the surgery. Physical therapy, joint injection and medication are commonly employed before deciding that surgery is the correct option.

Reconstructive Surgery
Reconstructive surgery is performed to restore function and normal appearance and to correct physical deformities caused by birth defects, trauma or medical conditions including cancer. Knee replacement (partial or total) is done through a surgical incision on the front of the knee. The joint surfaces at distal end of the femur and proximal end of the tibia are removed and replaced with articulating components. The process stabilizes the joint, and will allow for returned range of motion with physical therapy. The main conditions leading to knee replacement are osteoarthritis, deformity and injury.
