I actually love their mild BBQ sauce. However, the rest just doesn't make up for it.
The service at both locations I've been to is horrible. The staff is too busy chatting it up to actually pay any attention to you.
This is specifically about the location in Alameda. Hubby and I went in, sat down and ordered 2 plates of brisket, both mild. His was fine, mine was quite obviously medium. We told the waitress and she took my plate back to the kitchen for less than 1 minutes. She comes out and says they put a lot of mild sauce on top so I wouldn't notice the extra spice.
I was actually too shocked to go ballistic on her. I couldn't believe they did that. I didn't eat it. We paid for our meal and never darkened their door again.
On the plus side, it is one of favorite "out to dinner stories" I tell when we're meeting up with friends. Always gets a good laugh.
I still go in to buy their BBQ sauce (mild, naturally). I just don't actually buy their food anymore.

The food is ok, I have had better. The service is another story. They are racists towards white people. I have been in there several times and the story is always the same. I stopped going. You are treated differently. You just need to observe. Slower response time. Once I ordered from the to go counter - what a mistake. When it came to my turn all of a sudden she had things to do. Wouldn't even look me in the eye. She small talked with everyone else but me. Then my food - which was a simple brisket order -- took forever. Everyone had their food before me. I finally had to go ask - "oh, it's coming right up" from the cook - that's because he'd been watching me.

I picked up two combo's (ribs and links) Friday, May 1st. My mother and I had been wanting some barbeque for awhile. Yours used to be the best. First, Fruitvale shop went down and now Broadway is the same. What happened to the flavoring? Nothing taste like anything. The meat is just plain meat without any flavor. The potato salad is disgusting and what in the world is going on with those nasty, tough beans? It cost me almost $40 for those meals and I should have went to Applebee;s, Denny's or anywhere else where I know the food is ALWAYS good.

I LOVE BBQ....and so it pains me to give negative feedback at Everett and Jones, a place with so much "BBQ potential". First of all, the costumer service has gone compeletly downhill. There is a girl (so called manager) there named KENYA who is extremely rude! After being treated terribly by her after bringing to her attention that my overpriced BBQ order was wrong I vowed never, ever to go there again! I hope she knows that she is responsible for the loss of a good costumer!

The sauce is mouth watering even though the ribs are expensive it's well worth the money. The decor of the restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. I would suggest take-out only considering the place is pretty small and anybody just can walk in while you're eating.
