Beyond rude, if you don't hire them. I was pretty much told to find an illegal mexican that doesn't speak English if I didn't want to pay their price. The person I talked to (Ryan Black) seems to think he is the only person around here capable of doing a good job laying tile. Guess again buddy. I explained that myself and boyfriend did our kitchen, but just don't have the time to do the bathroom, so I was looking on CL for someone inexpensive, which is why most people do look on Craigslist. According to him he get's several high end jobs through CL, which would explain why he has the time to stalk the site for work. I was told if it was cheap I was looking for he wasn't the person. He said (in reference to the tile we did) I'm sure it looks fine "TO YOU." Then again said that an illegal's work I found off of the street would probably "LOOK FINE TO ME ALSO." I don't know about you, but I don't want racist, rude people like that coming in my home. No thank you. There are plenty of people out there that are in need of work right now that are fully capable of doing a great job at a low cost and will not be rude and hateful. A person/company who charges more is just as capable or doing a poor job than someone who does the work cheaper.
