I recently took my 98 beetle here and it was the best experience I've had at a auto shop ever. They actually treat you with care and not like you are stupid. I have multiple Volkswagen's and this place has done way better than specialty shop I have ever been to. I had a massive oil leak and the Apex employees took the time to explain what was going wrong with the car and gave an accurate est. on getting it fixed. They had it up and running in no time at all. They treat you with respect. I would recommend anyone having an issue with there car. Take it to Apex. You will not regret it.

Worst experience I have had in a long time. Apex gouged me 170 dollars for some uninstalled exhaust pipe that at other shops would have cost around 30 dollars.
When I asked to speak to the owner I was told that they are unreachable.
I will never go back to Apex for anything.

These guys are a joke they told aday and I did not get my car back for a week they never kept in touch with me to tell about the progress with my car I had to keep calling them the price started at 200 went up as high as 700 dollars without contacting me they just did what they wanted so if you want to get screwed go there

My husband and I live on the Washington coast. Our 17 year old daughter was up in Pierce County visiting family. Her 2004 Chrysler Pacifica started having mechanical problems, meanwhile we were three hours away from her not much we could do. My husband and I called around to different shops. This shop was willing to help our daughter in any way possible they were kind to her and made her feel comfortable in a very scared situation. This was her first time away from us driving on her own. They were able to fix the problems and get her back on the road safely. I am so grateful for the kind people who work at Apex brake and mufflers. Thank you for making a scary situation for my daughter feel not so scary. God bless you all!!!

A front end alignment taking 4 hours and costing 89.00 ended up being 1&1/2 days in their shop and costing over 2200.00! This is an 8 year old car that has never been wrecked, I don't know what they were doing! There isn't enough room here to go into all of the B.S. and lies! Make sure you check you mileage when you go in because they dummy the mileage when it goes out! I wouldn't trust them to bury a dead animal let alone touch a vehicle of mine again! DO NOT USE THIS SHOP!!!!

I am over fifty a woman and the owner, Andy kicked me from behind for no reason, my company dropped them for that, he never apologized, instead said he should have slug me in the face!All I did was delivered to them, I know he tries to make his mechanic put the wrong g things in your car, that's why they go threw mechanics they quit we they see how he is.He has some great people working for them too bad they, Apex owners, Lori and Andy, treat them badly to. WARN your friends and family, unless you like to throw your money away.

I would recommend everyone to this place. they offer great customer service answered all of my questions and did my repairs very quickly and havent had any problems since. I would definitely return with any and all repairs.

These people are dishearteningly dishonest I highly encourage anyone that reads this to go somewhere else. I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau as well.They lied to me about what they were going to charge me for and after there was a disagreement about it, they broke a stereo piece off of my car and never mentioned it. When I pointed it out to them the manager told me that a new one was being ordered for me. When I called three weeks later the receptionist told me it was on it’s way and they would call me. It’s been over a month, no call. I assume now they did it on purpose because of the confusion over what I was going to pay. If you take your car there make sure you have everything they are say in writing because their word means nothing. Real scum at Apex Brake & Muffler

I took my mother in law he because her engine blew up. When they had the engine out they also told her that her clutch was going out. They charged her 3600.00 to replace the engine and the clutch. In the process they told her that she was getting a new engine and they wouldn't put a used on in her car. When she went to go pick up her car she found out they did put a used engine in her car and charged her 1775 for the used engine. So she paid the 3600.00 to get her car back because she had no other option and an hour after she got her car back (which she had to take a loan out t pay) the cluch master cylinder snapped on her. She called apex, they wouldn't come tow her. So we had someone else tow her there. They said it was going to cost another 250.00 to fix because it's not there fault. They said it was a factory default. The now have my mother without her car again. They said all of the loaner cars are out. She asked if someone could give her a ride home because she was stranded. They said no and let a 50 year old woman walk out crying stranded in South Hill that is not familiar with the area. They have no human compassion at all. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Ever.

I took my car into Apex on Meridian to get the windshield wiper water pump fixed and to find a small oil leak. After two weeks we went to pick up the car and this is what happened: Total cost $4000.00. Had to replace pump and line that goes to wipers, found small leak in engine, said car needed new tires because of alignment problem, aligned car, put all new tires on car, and once they fixed my water pump for washer they said I also needed a new fan for air into car. Picked up the car, and the fan makes horrible squealing noises, took it back and of course they couldn't hear the awful squealing, the steering wheel is crooked and has a lot of play in it, the CD player won't work anymore, and I no longer have wheel or spare tire, still have small oil leak, took car to Les Schwab and told them about the steering wheel, they put it up and said it needed an alignment and I told them it just had one and they said it hadn't had one, had to order new wheel and new tire for spare. Don't ever buy Tires from Apex. Always go to a Les Schwab Tire Center where you get guarantees etc. My husband took his car in to get some work done on it and when he got home guess what was missing, his wheel and spare tire. I took my car back to them so many times and still have a squealing fan, CD player that no longer works and still a small engine leak. I was very angry, because they didn't fix anything. In fact one time I had taken it back in for the CD changer I could tell that the car hadn't even been moved or touched, but they said it was ready! I think that just because we had 2 really nice cars, (both used) that we had loads of money. We are also going to talk to the Better Business Bureau. It's one thing to make mistakes and try to fix them but when asked about tires, Andy just shook his head and said, & I quote, "Well we don't have any extra tires around here so someone must have stolen them when you were out somewhere". Yeah, when my car was at his garage. I have an alarm on my car and so does my husband. The tires vanished but nothing else. Jack still in there etc. Either someone who works for him is stealing and he doesn't know and doesn't care or he is condoning it, but clearly he didn't care that somehow we strangely lost 2 spare tires to them. We hadn't taken the cars to anyone else, so that theory was out. I went to Spokane and my brother wanted to look at the CD changer/player which is in the trunk and he came back into my parent’s house and said, "Do you realize you drove here without a spare tire". I could not believe it! That was when I had found out my spare was missing! I am a female driving by myself across the state and had no spare tire! I was so angry. But trying to communicate with Andy and his team was no longer working. So we are out $4000.00, no spare tires for 2 of our cars, oil leak, no alignment done, CD player no longer works and a squealing fan.

"On Saturday afternoon my car started running rough and the check engine symbol on the dash came on. The nearest shop was Apex so I pulled in. The service bays were all full, the place was packed. I talked to the service person behind the counter and explained I had to get to Tacoma by 5:00 for an important appointment. No sooner than I signed my name on a service order, my car was pulled in back of the shop and a tech immediately started to scan the computer and diagnose the problem. The car was having problems with it's emission control system. The technician somehow cleaned the sensor and told me he didn't think I would need to replace it. I was in and out in less than an hour. The car runs great and I made it to my appointment in Tacoma. This shop is an honest to goodness repair shop where the techs actually know how to repair a car rather than just remove and replace the parts like so many other shops. I told them how grateful I was and they now have a new regular customer."
