American Transmissions

I just had work done at American Transmissions. I can not say enough about how wonderful, professional, competent, prompt, fair, and ethical ,David and his crew were in dealing with my numerous issues. I was hesitant about having work done, because I knew what I needed was extensive. My regular mechanic does not do transmissions. American was recommended by them . I am so glad that I got this lead and made this choice. They are extremely communicative and detail oriented. I was able to even have them consult with my brother, out of state ,to help me make the best decision in my current situation. I feel I was given the very best deal possible at the best price. I expect to get many more years out of my car , now , and I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone ! Ask for David and you will not be disappointed!

I walked into this place with an open mind and hope they could find my issue. The tech John did a test drive and told me the possible issue, so after thinking about it I told Dave I would wait on the diagnostic, Thats when the problem started and I soon figured out that this guy is a flake with a complex. I agreed to sit and wait while his guys performed the diag on the transmisson, but he gave me the run down on why that wasnt a good idea and his policy of 35 yrs. So when someone starts talking fast and long stories its time to run far and fast. When a shop doenst want you to wait there is a reason and its not a good one. I gave it a chance and first impression from the guy name dave made it my last visit. DONT GIVE HIM YOUR IMPORTANT TIME. He had no idea who I was and I even told him I was a Air Force vet who served in the desert and had patience, but it didnt matter to him that i had patience. All he was concerned about was leaving the car there for the entire day which i was willing to wait. Lost cause and lost revenue from me.

This shop will go the extra mile to make sure the repair is done right.Dave and the staff were friendly and extra helpful. I had clutch job done on my 2004 Chevy Silverado2500 HD 4x4 Duramax Diesel Pickup. When I got it back, it had noise I had not heard before. I told the owner, "as a listener to Tom and Ray, I know better than to ignore a noise." He wholeheartedly agreed and took it back in. After not getting much satisfaction from the dealer from whom he bought the parts, he called the factory and, as it turned out, the noise was normal. The reason is because the flywheel was also replaced and it was changed from a "dual mass" to a "single mass" flywheel. The factory recommended replacing the clutch master cylinder, which he replace for free due to the fact that they sent the wrong one and it took longer than promised as a result. In any case, throughout the entire process things were very well explained, and both the owner and mechanics were very courteous and genuinely concerned about doing quality work. Make sure you don't confuse this shop with American Transmission and Air. They are not the same company. This is AAA American Transmission in St. Petersburg on 49th St North.

wasre of hard earned money and your time

our car ws originally serviced the week of december 7th my husband made payment december 15yj we were back the same morning car wasnt right.

he spent from 8 am to 530 today the 21sy waiting for the car

david owner/manager doesnt want customers waiting on their vehicle

he is short rude ebasive over the phone when you call for a update



i dont know how they are aaa aassociated but they shouldnt be.
