NOTE: The vibrating Activator tip is synergistically used with a pumping motion in a crown-down manner to produce “active” irrigation. A cloud of debris is frequently observed within a fluid-filled pulp chamber. Repeat this process for each canal or until the fluid in the pulp chamber is clinically observed to be visually clear. Restorative Dentistry
Dr. Ruddle is a fellow in both the American and International Colleges of Dentistry. He is also an Assistant Professor of Graduate Endodontics at Loma Linda University and University of California, Los Angeles, is an Associate Clinical Professor at University of California, San Francisco, and is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Endodontics at University of the Pacific, School of Dentistry. Dr. Ruddle also previously served as a consultant to Long Beach V.A. Medical Center in Long Beach, California, and is currently an Endodontic Fellow of Harvard University. He has been a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon society since 1971 and the Pierre Fauchard Academy since 1987. Dr. Ruddle serves on the Dental Advisory Board for Endodontic Practice and Dentistry Today, and the Editorial Advisory Board for the Journal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry.

Root Canal Treatment
In addition to his clinical and educational activities, Dr. Ruddle has designed and invented, or collaborated in the invention of, several instruments and/or devices that are widely used internationally in clinical endodontics.

Deep Cleaning
The EndoActivator is designed to safely and vigorously energize the hydrodynamic phenomenon. Evidence-based endodontics has shown that cavitation and acoustic streaming significantly improve debridement and the disruption of the smear layer and biofilm. Activating fluids promote deep cleaning and disinfection into lateral canals, fins, webs, and anastomoses. A cleaned root canal system facilitates 3-D obturation and long-term success.
