Overall

To all the women or men who want their lawn mower/ snowblower repaired and want to be able to trust someone... Don't use this business because the owner Jerry is not a good business man, nor anyone to be trusted. He charged me quite a lot of money $426.00 to fix my lawn mower, and in the process broke a $5.00 strap to hold the chute to the deck. I had to call him for almost a month repeatedly to come with the strap that he broke. He kept blowing me off. Then he made an appt when he would come, I waited and he never showed up, nor did he call to say that he wasnt coming. He is a money hungry low life that didnt have the decency to do the right thing for a customer that paid him what he asked when the lawn mower was ready no questions asked, and when it came time to do the right thing with something he broke he showed his true colors...just expected him to treat a customer with respect.

Dont use this business! What happened to old school ethics? They don't live at Adirondack Equipment Repair!

Don't waste your time. I took...

Don't waste your time. I took a Homelite chainsaw in because it was not running and was still under warrantee. He said it would probably be a "couple weeks", and he would call when done. After a month I called, said it needed a new carb, which he was awaiting. Called again 2 weeks later and he told me at first he couldn't find the saw, then didn't know if the carb was in then that it was in but he didn't know if the "other guy" put it on and tested it yet...but it would be done in another day....still no calls...called again 2 weeks later (2 months since drop off). Told the whole saw was going to be replaced - he had an "authorization" from Homelite, and it would be sent directly to me. If I wanted the old saw fine, otherwise he was going to chuck it. I took the saw and asked for a tracking number for the new saw. Of course he had nothing - nor did Homelite have any record of my case. They also said they would never send a new saw without the return of the old one. When I called this guy back for the "authorization number" he gave me my serial number. Homelite suggested I take it to another "authorized repair facility". So after 3 months (almost to the day) I returned my saw to HomeDepot who gave me full credit for a replacement saw (Echo). I'm happy now, but this guy is a joke.

***** Update to the above review: I owe this guy an appology since in-fact Homelite sent me a replacement chainsaw. I will say I was a bit frustrated in our communication, but perhaps it is my NYC intensity that doesn't jibe well with the more laid-back upstate demenor. I would also blame Homelite for poor communication and apparently providing bogus information. At the end of the day, while this took a long time, Adirondack did do what they said they would do, so I have no problem with them and would just try to have a little more patients myself.

Response to first review

We are not a snowmobile repair shop. Anyone who brings a snowmobile to lawnmower repair shop should expect to wait for it. Any one who brings a lawn mower or snowblower to this repair shop wil get fast and courteous service at a reasonable price.

Overall
do not ever bring anything to this place

brought a snowmobile to him 6 months ago paid him $300.00 up front for any parts he might need went there and it was still sitting in the same spot 2 months later, he said he hadnt had time but would get to it started calling him to find out what if anything was going on with it wouldn't answer phone calls wouldnt return messages, 6 months later went there and got ahold of him told him I was going to take it and needed my money back. Told me he didnt have it so I told him he had until monday. He tells me to come monday and he'd have it but when I got there he came to the door looked at me walked away and called the police. When the police got there he told them he'd fix the sled but wasnt giving me my money. Police said I have to go to small claims court.

If you dont want to go through this dont go there, But more importantly dont support a scam artist

ps...I'm ONLY giving one star because I have to to post this
