Serving Savannah Since 1949 with Southern Hospitality

General Info
In 1949, Foster L. Hurn began a small business called "F. L. Hurn Pictures", furnishing movies on 16mm film to various customers, such as the "Dixie-Lan" drive-in restaurant located on East Victory Drive. Movies were shown on a large screen in the parking lot as customers dined in their cars. Various U.S.O.'s rented and showed these films to servicemen also. Later, as the government began funding many programs for local schools, Mr. Hurn began selling audio-visual equipment. He was instrumental in getting Bell and Howell products into the school system. The company name then changed to Hurn's Audio Visual Services. After his death in 1969, Mr. Hurn's widow took over the company. Upon her later remarriage, the name was changed to Bland's Audio Visual Service. For a short time, Mrs. Bland's daughter and husband ran the business, which by then combined repairs with sales and rentals of A/V equipment. Wishing to move to Jacksonville, they sold the business to three men who changed the business name to Audio Visual Resources, Inc. in 1984. Through their leadership and experience in audio visual sales and rentals, the business grew successfully. Audio Visual Resources, Inc. is now owned by one of the original three men and is providing Savannah with a wide range of audio and visual rentals and services.
