Overall

Just came home from dinner at Lena's and cannot believe how awful the experience was. It is Friday night and we were literally the only 2 people in the place. 1 waitress and 1 bus girl. This is a restaurant that is on it's way to closing its doors. We do not care about atmosphere as long as the food is good, however this place is VERY drab and OLD looking and the prices are completely OUTRAGEOUS! $15. for spaghetti and one meatball!!! We have been to elegant restaurants that are less expensive. My husband ordered a thick crust pizza with hamburger and an appetizer of one meatball. The sauce on the pizza and the meatball was horrible. A taste that cannot be described, it is that awful. The meatball was OK, not mushy and it was large. However, the sauce was awful. I ordered chicken gorgonzola for $18.95. One would be reasonable in thinking that if a dish is called chicken gorgonzola you would taste gorgonzola in every bite. This dish was a complete mess. The plate was enormous and full of a sauce that filled the entire dish. A person could dive in and swim around, there was that much sauce. Now, chicken? Not so much!!! The presentation was an obvious attempt to deceive a person into thinking they were getting a huge portion of food. I had to hunt through the sauce and pieces of seaweed (spinach, I think) to find 2 small, dried out pieces of chicken. Oh, and the gorgonzola that is in the name of the dish? Well, that amounted to a few crumbles of gorgonzola on top! The chicken tortellini soup was bland, tasteless. There was quite a bit of chicken, tortellini and carrots in the soup, however the broth was just water, no taste. Even the soda, Coke, tasted awful. We had a Groupon (Paid $15. for $30.) When we presented the Groupon the waitress came back to us and said we couldn't use it. She said this had been an on-going problem with the Groupon, as the owner won't honor them if you order pizza for dinner. NOWHERE DOES IT SAY THIS. The Fine print on the Groupon says you must order 2 items from the DINNER MENU. Pizza is an item on the dinner menu. The owner said you have to order 2 entrees. Again, NOWHERE DOES IT SAY ENTRÉE! This is very misleading and deceitful. A sign that this is a business in trouble. The waitress admitted this was an on-going issue. Intelligent behavior would be to make diners aware of this when they are ordering. The Groupon doesn't say to make the waitress aware that you will be using it prior to ordering. Normally we don't have to do that as the terms of usage are clear. The owner of Lena's is obviously desperate as the place is going under. Not worth the money with a Groupon, totally not worth paying the full high prices for terrible tasting food. Bertucci's and Olive Garden are better!

Classic Italian & American in comfortable setting

Delicious Italian classics like Chicken Parmesan, Lasagna are among the best I have tasted. The handmade Sicilian style pizza is amazing! The friendly, professional staff will make you feel right at home. The prices are quite affordable and the portions are generous. There is a full bar.

Great Classic Italian

I enjoyed this comfortable environment of Lena's and found the food generous and delicious. I was given warm Italian bread to dip in my generously seasoned olive oil and my meal (chicken Parmesan) was too much for one seating. The sauce was excellent and the pasta al dente. The coffee finished the meal to perfection! Carol was a nice efficient server. I really enjoyed it and shall return soon.
