Belltown Fire Department Inc.

On April 10, 1928, a group of civic minded residents of the Town of Stamford, Connecticut sat together in the residence of Frank F. Veit of Leonard Street in the section of Stamford known as Belltown. On this night they started what has continued for the last eighty one years, a volunteer fire department.



Each of our dedicated firefighters is a non-paid professional who just may just be your next door neighbor. These men and women give countless hours of their own time and resources to provide for your safety, all without compensation and respond to serve the residents of Belltown and when necessary assist neighboring departments throughout the City of Stamford.



The department is a non-profit organization that relies heavily on donations and fund raisers held throughout the year. The department does receive funding through the city charter which allows the department to receive a small percentage of taxes from residents in the Belltown Fire District.
