I have seen Dr Fred for my dogs for years when I lived on Staten Island. I always feltvery pleased with his care, and his sympathy for his patients. I have been living in New Jersey for several years now, and as my dogs aged have use other vets here in New Jersey. Most of the vets here are very over priced, not sincere with all the testing, seems they push for unnecessary testing for minor aliments. Feeling this way i returned to Dr Fred's office recently. My dog has had a skin issue, and i thought of Dr Fred. Sadly when I my pet was seen, Dr Fred and his wife, seemed very annoyed about our visit, telling me " why do you come Here "I'm getting ready to retire". His care was still that of a professional, but he seem a great deal less sympathetic and caring, telling me " your dog is getting old what do you expect" I had to suggested giving anti biotic for the problem, and he agreed it might help... How sad I left the office, knowing he did remember me, but how he has changed since I last seen him.

We call him Dr. Fred. i have now been bringing my pets to him for 17 years. He is a compassionate vet, not money-driven as some are; he is ethical about what he considers inhumane 'treatment' and will make pragmatic recommendations so as not to inflict suffering if a pet should be just made comfortable a bit longer until the quality of life begins to diminish. Sadly he does not operate a hospital, just a clinic, where he does routine surgeries. but the animals like him as well as the people who care for them. Keep up the good work, Dr. Fred!

Dr. Lacuata is the kindest and most compassionate person my dog could know. He truly cares about animals and is not in it for the money at all. He explains everything in laymans terms and talks you through everything he does. He will never perform unnecessary tests or procedures. He is absolutely wonderful and I would never take my dog anywhere else.
