Kidney Stones
Testicular Cancer
In the immediate postoperative period there is the risk of bleeding into the scrotum. If the patient notices a significant increase in the size of their scrotum, significant scrotal discomfort, fever, scrotal redness, or tenderness, he should also be evaluated by the surgeon. Discomfort is usually minimal and should respond to Tylenol. More severe pain may indicate potential problems. Patients may complain of mild lower abdominal discomfort similar to what one would experience from getting hit in the genitalia. A benign lump or granuloma, may develop because there is a leakage of sperm from the cut end of the vas into the scrotal tissues. It may occasionally be painful or sensitive to touch or pressure. Post-vasectomy pain syndrome is a chronic pain syndrome that follows vasectomy. The cause of this syndrome and its incidence are unclear. It is generally treated with anti-inflammatory agents. There has been some debate as to whether vasectomies predispose a man to any future health problems. However, there is no conclusive evidence that men who have undergone a vasectomy have a higher risk of cardiovascular disease, prostate cancer, testicular cancer or other health problems.

Radiation Therapy
If the you have an early diagnosis of prostate cancer, there is usually a range of treatment options. These may include conservative management, radiation therapy with either external bream or brachytherapy therapy, cryosurgery and prostatectomy – surgical removal of the prostate. Your treatment options will depend on a number of factors, including the stage of the disease, your age and health or personal preference.

General Surgery
Dr. Pham is a Board Certified urologist who has resided in Sugar Land, Texas for the most part of his life. He received his medical education at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He completed a residency in General Surgery and Urologic Surgery at the University of Miami Hospitals in Miami, Florida. Since the completion of his post-graduate training, he has been in private practice since 1997. He has vast experience in DaVinci robotic surgery, endoscopic surgery, laser surgery, and traditional open surgery. He has authored and co-authored many scientific articles and book chapters. He is a member of the American Urologic Association, Texas Medical Association, and Harris County Medical Association. Dr. Pham received the "Male Physician of Excellence" award from the Methodist Sugar Land Hospital in 2007.
Minimally Invasive Surgery
Referred to by many as robotic surgery for prostate cancer or robotic prostatectomy, da Vinci® Prostatectomy is more accurately a robot-assisted, minimally invasive surgery that is the preferred treatment for removal of the prostate following early diagnosis of prostate cancer. In fact, studies suggest that da Vinci® Prostatectomy may be the most effective, least invasive prostate surgery performed today.
