Here's the deal

To "Cluttrered by Extreamly Unsatisfied", This is a pawn shop, not Kmart or Nordstoms. I was in there today, and there's more than enough room to move around in. I suppose if you are Claustrophobic, then you could have issues as they definitely have a huge inventory, but that would be your issue, not Topkick's. I've been going there for years, and they have always treated me well and fairly. Not sure why your experience was as you described. To "Quietlady"What you don't seem to understand is that, yes, pepole do bring new, in-box merchandise into pawn shops quite often. As someone who frequents pawnshops, I can tell you that those are the deals that I look for, and they are not rare. You also don't ssem to realize that in the situation that you described, you are not the only victim, as pawnshops stand to not only loose the item when you claim it, but they also stand to loose the loan that they gave for that item. You don't seem very sympathetic to their position, so I can see why they might not be friendly when you go in with your guns blazing, basically calling them thieves. The last thing they want to do is take in stolen goods, and risk loosing their money and the item. The stigma that used to be attributed to pawn shops as fences for stolen goods is a thing of the past, as state laws requiring a valid Washington State drivers licence or ID for all pawn transactions, and the daily submission of all transaction records and ID's over the internet to the local police. These laws have reduced the intake of stolen items immensely, and has made craigslist the new wild west for the sale of stolen goods. I realize that it's hard not to be reactionary and emotional when you have been violated by a thief, but Topkick didn't rob you. The bottom line is that this is one of the coolest pawn shops I've eve been in. The owner told me that is has been in operation for about forty years, which is why that have such a huge amount of inventory. Everything you can think of is in that place. If you think of Pawn Exchange, or Pawn Stars when you hear "Pawn Shop", then you have no idea what Tacoma's hidden gem of a pawn shop really is. Love that place!

What a total dump!

I went there to recover some stolen property that had been pawned there by a thief. The owner was rude and arrogant, and he didn't care that he had had about $3,000 worth of my things come into his shop! When asked why it didn't make him stop to wonder why one person would pawn things every week, he just shrugged and said 'people do it all the time'. But.. how many people pawn a new in-the-box desktop pc WITH THE SALES RECEIPT still in the box, and he doesn't even think that's odd? In my opinion that's pretty darn shady. He suggested I go look for my items in the store but that was impossible! Stuff is piled on top of each other, the room is completely filthy with only a small path thru it, and there doesn't seem to be much (any?) organization. When I brought a police officer back with me, the owner seemed put out, and barely cooperated with the officer. I never got any of my things back. Evidently it's a great place to pawn AND buy stolen goods.

TopKick Pawn Shop

Top Kick is great! They are very nice and helpful. I have been dealing with them for over 10 years. They are more than fair! My father has purchased things from them for longer than I can remember! Anytime you need something they are very helpful. The store is a packed with items because they are a great place to take your items when you need a little extra money!

Cluttrered

I was in this store and found myself trapped. I could not move in this store because their was so much clutter. I also found the employees to be very rude to the customers.
