Lily's Housekeeping Services

I tried to write my experience with Lily's Housekeeping on the Facebook page but it looks like it was deleted by the owner. This is upsetting because even though my experience was poor, other customers should be able to see such reviews, both good and bad. The fact is that my review was the truth. I ordered a Groupon because I recently moved into a house that needed to be cleaned. I explained to woman on the phone that I am expecting to clean the house myself again once we move in, but this would help just start it. She explained to me that 3 hours would probably not be enough time for a detailed cleaning, so to create a 'Priority List' of items that needed to be done in order, which I did. After the cleaning was complete, I stopped by the house on my way home and was very disappointed. The floors (which were first on my list) did not seemed to be mopped or vacuumed in any room but one. There were still brown water spots in one bedroom, dust balls in the corners of the living room, and food crumbs under the dishwasher. Many other items on my list were not complete as well, as the fans all stil has dirt and cobwebs on them, the blinds still untouched, and the kitchen cabinets (only the bottoms were requested) were dirty. It appeared the only items that were done were the refrigerator, sinks, and tub in the bathroom. I was also offended initially with the service because through the phone consultation I was asked to provide my own cleaning supplies. I understand this is a rule of thumb this company uses, but it should not be. I can understand if the customer PREFERS to use their own cleaning supplies, but if I am paying for a service, I shouldn't have to provide anything. Furthermore, I was told I would receive a call from the cleaner the day before to verify any information and was never called. All in all it seemed to be a waste of money which is never good.

I bought a three hour cleaning voucher from Living Social for Lily's Housekeeping. After numerous calls went un-returned, I finally got a call from them to schedule a cleaning appointment. They told me they do not bring their own cleaning supplies. The house was vacant so I offered to get supplies and leave them in the home but was told not to worry about it. They showed up with no cleaning supplies anyway and acted like they had no idea the place was vacant. I received a call that they would have to leave the premises to get supplies. Upon my return to the home, the counters and floors were still filthy, toilets untouched and the downstairs bathroom was not even noticed according to the housekeeper. I was able to reach the actual housekeeper and she told me she was told not to worry about the fact that all she had was a broom and sponge and do her best. I have not been able to get Jennifer, the so-called owner, to return my calls. Thankfully, Living social refunded my money. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!

My maid from Lily's has been cleaning for me for about two and a half months now. She is very good, and seems to have a great deal of experience. The overall experience with Lily's is great- no complaints. I like that they are a small family owned business, but big enough to be organized and dependable. The bigger companies came in a little more expensive for basically the same service offered and I just don't see the logic in using them. Not to mention the fact that most of them said that they couldn't even give me a quote without coming to see the house first, which I didn't have time for. Lilys gave me a price over the phone and is very simple and straighforward.
