Dr. Chang is a board-certified ophthalmologist who is fellowship-trained in cornea and external disease, and refractive surgery. After earning his undergraduate degree at UCLA studying biology and physics, he received his medical degree at the prestigious University of California, San Francisco. He then completed his internship at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, and ophthalmology residency at the Medical College of Virginia. Following that, he served a fellowship in cornea and external disease at the University of California, Davis, where he studied under two of the worldâ€™s leading cornea experts, Drs. Mark Mannis and Ivan Schwab. While at UC Davis, he headed up several research efforts involving corneal diseases and corneal transplant surgery. He also trained in many refractive surgery techniques, and developed expertise in managing complex cornea and refractive surgery cases.
