In 2001 his son Dr. Steven Johnson bought the business, changed the name to Johnson Family Dental and now owns and operates 2 other locations in Ventura and Solvang.         Went to new office in Camarillo. VERY disappointed. Introductory deal was supposed to include a free cleaning and x-rays [THEY LIED!] They only cleaned a small portion of mouth, and said the rest would be done in 3 MONTHS, when I came back for additional work. WHAT A SCAM! They will charge you hundreds of dollars for deep cleaning, whether you need it or not. YOU get NOTHING for free. Some introduction! I will finish Dental work somewhere more honest. The crown they did is probably ok, but he did not even it out enough, and it feels awkward. The office women are all smiles, but behind the smiles there is dishonesty.

        I have gone to Dr. Petruska fo...

        I have gone to Dr. Petruska for a few years. Tues. I go to him to re-glue a cap for me at his new group, Johnson Family Dental. He not only rushed through the prep work on me, but also attempted to charge me for his own work failing. Now less than 48 hours after my appt. with him, my cap is loose again. I will never return to Johnson Family Dental, nor will I ever recommend the entire office to anyone. Dr. Petruska used to do good work for me, but since moving to Johnson Family Dental, not only has his work declined, but the office staff is rude and condescending.

        Too many other DDS's around to deal with poor work and shoddy service.

        Horrible experience! They take FOREVER, Dr. Gary Johnson tries to treat several patients all at once. Their billing department will totally rip you off, very dishonnest.

        Great place!

        I love having my dentist downtown. The view out of Celina's room is amazing of the ocean! The staff is great and can always get me in last minute or accommodate my schedule. Dr. Gary is great at what he does and I even saw kids in the office when I was there. Not many dentists can work with kids so thats great! I will defiantly be bringing my kids here.
