Pediatric Affiliates follows the American Academy of Pediatrics guidelines for routine â€œwell childâ€ and preventive care. We believe that routine well child care examinations play an important role in keeping children healthy. During the well child care exams, your provider will go over your childâ€™s growth and development.
Ear Infections
But not limited to, ear infection, poor weight gain, rash, developmental delay, behavior/school/learning problems, an upper respiratory infection, sleep issues, etc. These diagnoses may, and usual do, require further time to fully evaluate and discuss. Occasionally, a prescription may need to be written, a medical work-up may need to be instituted or a referral made to a specialist.
Emergency Care
We consider our collection policies fair but we are firm. Â We will NEVER DENY medical care to our established patients due to non-payment issues when they areÂ sick. Â Patients may be discharged from the Practice due to non-payment for medical services. We will give a 30 day notice and continue to provide only emergency care during the notification process. If we do need to discharge a patient from the Practice for financial reasons (including bankruptcy), the account will be turned over to an attorney for disposition and payment.
Flu Shots
The best way to avoid influenza virus is to get your child the immunization to prevent it. Flu shots are available right now at most doctorsâ€™ offices and now is the time to get them. Flu infection may begin as early as November, and usually peaks around February of each year. The flu vaccine will not give you an infection with the virus since the immunization contains only dead viruses that cannot reproduce. The shot usually has no or minor side effects.

You will be able to ask any questions about your childâ€™s health and development. The provider will examine your child and discuss age specific health, behavior and safety issues. These visits often include a vision and hearing screening, required lab work and routine immunizations. We encourage both parents to attend the well child checks together and ask questions regarding their childâ€™s health and development. Make sure you bring your childâ€™s immunization record so that we can update it at these visits.
