Located in Westerly, R.I., Westerly Public Library has been in operation since 1894. The library stocks a collection of books, magazines, compact discs, DVDs and videos, totaling to more than 170,000 items. As a member of the statewide Ocean State Libraries consortium, it offers library card holders access to 45 shared library collections in the state of Rhode Island. Its facility comprises of study rooms, meeting space, browsing areas and children's room. Westerly Public Library's special collections consist of local history and genealogy materials as well as rare books, manuscripts, along with artifacts.
