I like Dr Coogan's thinking! I have an older dog and don't want all the poisons of this or that in her elderly body. He answers our questions completely and never does anything without talking to us first. When we would walk out of VCA we always got a whopping bill for things we didn't even ask for. This has never happened to us at Kentmere. Keep up the good work!

Dr Coogan is an excellent choice for pet care. He has been my family's vet for years and always treats our pets like his own. His care of our pets is excellent and I highly recommend Kentmere Vet Hospital.

I had made a long and detailed post about this clinic but it magically disappeared so I will do it again..If I could rate them zero I would.
Last year I took my dog to this clinic to have her hips x-rayed to be sent off to the OFA for certification, she also had bloodwork done. My dog was there for approx 5 hours, now radiographs on the hips are complex, if the positioning is not correct it can make a dog appear dysplastic, this vet clinic refused to show me the radiograph insisting I wouldn't be able to understand it, they handed me a copy of her bloodwork results and never sat down and explained to me how her bloodwork was because it was "none of my business." I was shocked at how rude they were when I spent almost $500 there and they say MY dogs bloodwork and x-ray was none of my business? EVERY dog breeder/trainer examines the radiograph to make sure the position is correct before sending them off, a lot of vets mess up, I did contact OFA to review the radiograph, they said the positioning could have been better but she did pass.
When they brought my dog out, she was limping (I understand from anesthesia she would be a little off balance as I have done this many times before but she was clearly hurt) and my dog is a personal protection and therapy dog, she was trained to withstand an immense amount of stress, but she wanted out of that building, she screamed at me and wouldn't listen to a single command I knew then something was wrong, she was severely dehydrated (no water or food all day, they told me I should bring some food but they "forgot" to give it to her.) When I got home, she could barely walk, her hindquarters were buckling, I have a deck and she couldn't make it up or down the stairs, when she tried to go to the bathroom, she fell, so I called them, they told me Dr Coogan was busy, and that my dog was just fine, I had other questions and wanted the bloodwork read to me (she is also a breeding dog so knowing she's healthy is important to me and my clients), the next day my dog was still in pain so I took her to a more qualified veterinarian, he gave her a shot for the inflammation/muscle strain. I then called the OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) to talk to one of their veterinarian specialists and they told that she should not have been in any kind of pain unless she was dysplastic (which she isn't) or the vet pulled and yanked on her legs, I called Dr. Coogan AGAIN to try and get her bloodwork read and my questions answered, they said he was busy and would call back, I tried again the next day, same story the only difference was I was told by the staff that they did not want me to call ever again, her bloodwork wasn't my business and Dr. Coogan doesn't want to speak to me ever and if I ever showed up they would call the police, I was shocked, regardless to my dog being in pain I remained civil....for about a week I tried to get ahold of him, and he avoided me, sounds like guilt to me.
If you love your pet.......please don't take them here, it's just not worth the risk, there are many reputable vets around, then there are con artists, just do your homework...many vets, like another post I saw they prescribe unnecessary medication, etc. Anyone reading this doesn't know me, but please trust me, don't go here unless it's for something simple like vaccinations or a fecal, don't go to Windcrest either.
