Cryotherapy
Cryotherapy of the prostate uses cold or freezing temperatures to freeze and kill prostate cancer cells. This is done under general anesthesia and is an outpatient procedure.
Emergency Care
Eric attended the University of North Carolina Wilmington where he received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. He worked as a registered nurse in emergency/trauma medicine before returning to graduate school where he received his Master of Physician Assistant Practice degree from Campbell University School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Eric has worked as a PA in both Emergency Medicine and Urgent Care prior to joining Coastal Urology. He enjoys the mixture of surgical, inpatient and outpatient medicine with Urology as well as collaboration with various specialties. In his free time he enjoys woodworking, hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles and most anything outdoors.

Bladder Cancer
Transurethral Resection of a Bladder Tumor (TURBT) is used to diagnose bladder cancer and remove bladder cancer. This is done by placing a resectoscope (camera) in the bladder while you are under anesthesia and a wire loop is used to remove the abnormal tissue. This tissue is sent to a pathologist for analysis. A medicine called mitomycin- C will be placed in the bladder after the resection is complete to help prevent recurrences. A small catheter will be placed in the bladder for 1 day only and will be removed at home the day after the procedure.
Urology
Dr. Abraham moved to Wilmington in 1998 and began his career. After working with other practices in the area, he opened his own clinic, Coastal Urology PLLC, in 2007. He has become a well-respected member of the medical community as well as a trusted physician to his patients. He serves on multiple committees at New Hanover Regional Hospital and also provides valuable resources to the community.
Kidney Cancer
Cryotherapy of Renal Mass is a localized treatment of kidney cancer. This procedure is used for smaller tumors in the appropriate location. An interventional radiologist will use CAT scan guidance to pass probe into the tumor and apply freezing temperatures to this area, killing cancer cells.
Kidney Stones
This procedure uses shock waves to break up larger kidney stones into smaller fragments. These fragments are then passed through the urinary tract. This process takes about an hour and a light sedative is used to keep you comfortable.
Testicular Cancer
Orchiectomy is removal of a testicle. This is typically done in a patient with testicular cancer. The testicle is sent to a pathologist for analysis after removal. A pathology report will tell us the type and stage of the testicular cancer. After the procedure, your activities will be modified.

Conditions encountered in male midlife are most commonly caused by a combination of medications and other health conditions. The first contributing factor to Low-T would be the man’s increasing age. Other contributing factors include obesity, chronic opioid pain medication use, chronic inflammation, history of Mump orchitis, chemotherapy, etc.

General Surgery
Dr Abraham attended Temple University where he received his Doctor of Medicine degree. After graduation, he did his internship PGY-1 year in General Surgery for at Boston University.
Vasectomy
This is not your father’s generation vasectomy, where large incisions were made and you would be bedridden for at least a week. The no scalpel vasectomy is associated with very little to no discomfort and takes about 7 minutes to complete. Valium will help you relax and minimize any discomfort. The lidocaine is injected with a tiny needle. If you would like your wife or significant other to be present in the room during the procedure, that is not a problem.
Hysterectomy
As women age, we lose our sex hormones starting in our 30’s and by 51 give or take a few years they have been depleted. If you have had a hysterectomy and removal of ovaries you may have been depleted of your hormones earlier. Estrogen, testosterone and progesterone are all sex hormones that play a vital role in a women’s body.
