Consultation. From the moment you walk through the door, the attention is on you and your unique skin care needs. You will be asked to complete a short intake form that highlights your current skin care regimen and products you are using. It is also important to note any allergies to medications, products or foods. Retin-A and other drugs or supplements and even your diet can affect your skin and what kind of treatments our estheticians recommend. More commonly, our estheticians will simply ask about your skin concerns, whether you are using Retin-A or have had recent cosmetic injections or heat based therapy ( laser or intense pulsed light).

Permanent Hair Removal
Waxing is a form of semi-permanent hair removal which removes hair from the root. Unlike shaving or using depilatory cream (in which the hair is removed at the surface of the skin), waxed hair will not grow back for approximately four to six weeks. Some people might experience regrowth earlier due to the hair being on a different growth cycle than hair removed.
Facial Waxing
The experienced estheticians at Paragon Med Spa offer full body and facial waxing services. To prepare for our services, skin should be clean, dry, lotion and powder free. If skin is sensitive, it is best to avoid caffeine prior to a treatment, since caffeine can stimulate the nerve endings and make waxing more uncomfortable. All topical prescription medications for acne and all retinols must be stopped for at least a week prior to facial waxing to prevent burns or tears to the skin. There must be at least two weeks of hair growth (approximately Â¼ inch) in order for the wax to adhere to the hair.

Body Wrap
Preparations. Our esthetician will escort you to the treatment room and explain the sequence of your treatment. They will instruct you to put on a body wrap that goes underneath your arms and secures in front with Velcro, leaving the upper chest and neck exposed. They leave the room to ensure your comfort and privacy.
Chemical Peel
Dermaplaning is an exfoliative procedure that safely and gently shaves the outermost layer of skin (epidermis) and rids the skin of the fine vellus hair (peach fuzz). This procedure is a great alternative for people who cannot receive microdermabrasion or chemical peels. Dermaplaning is most often used on clients with rough dry skin, superficial hyperpigmentation, mild acne scarring and fine lines and wrinkles.
