if you are in Long island, this this the electirician you need to use...
I contacted GE about a possible problem with a GFI at about 9:30. Lou arrived by 10:30 and had the GFI replaced by 10:45. Great customer service!
His warranty is the thing that sold me.....
Most electrician won't give you a warranty past 1 year...
Installed a generator that helped when we lost power...
And now I have lights....GE Family Electric helped me fix a bad breaker...

Provided by SuperpagesI rarely write reviews but felt compelled to do so in this case. Main breaker blew at 4:30pm on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. No power. Found this service and called, expecting nothing. Less than 10 minutes later, received a call from Gary (one of the principals). Less than two hours later, and after a few followup calls on their part (very rare thse days) , he was at my home, fixing my problem. He was thorough, consciencious, and got the job done on time at a fair price. Could have had a disaster on my hands, but this family owned company really came through. Thoroughly recommend and will be using them for larger electrical projects in my home.
My husband is a brilliant lawyer but is scared to death of electric. We tried GE Family Electric after a recommendation by a friend. It's nice to be treated with respect and given quality work for our hard earned money. The prices quoted and billed were right on target too. Give these people a try. My husband and I definitely recommend so.

I am handicapped and cannot get around the house well. I was very concerned about bringing in workers who I didn't already know. I read some reviews on ge family electric and asked for a free estimate. They offered me their senior citizens discount, which helped alot with my tight budget. The repairs and installations I needed were done right on time and with not a penny extra in cost. The owner (Gary) later called back twice to make sure everything was perfect for me.
We had GE Family do work for us and we were totally satisfied. Not only did they do a great job, they showed up when the said they would and their prices were fair. I would recommend them highly.
We have had two jobs done with this company in our home and I am thrilled with their work and reliability. They always show up when agreed upon and answer calls promptly. I would highly recommend them and will be using them when our home needs any future work.

Provided by SuperpagesFirst, let me tell you that I'm a 57 year old, semi-handicapped widow with a VERY limited income. Mr. Engesser first came in May to give me an estimate at which time I could not afford and asked if he accepted Discover Card at which time he did not. My electrical problem was so dangerous that he became visually upset with the situation. About a week late, Mr. Engesser called to inform me that the company now accepts Discover Card. I really don't know if that was a coincidence, but I'd like to think that it wasn't (: ). Not only did Mr. Engesser work with me on scheduling AND RE-scheduling ,but he actually gave me a VERY fair price. My nephew who is experienced in electrical work, but is not certified told me for what needed to be done that the price was VERY fair. I would recommend Mr. Engesser anytime. Thank you, Mr.Engesser, for being a great family business.

Involved me in the diagnosis and possible solutions. Repaired efficiently. Left me with a very reasonable bill.-Pierre

Provided by SuperpagesIt's a family owned small business. The owner is directly involved with everything, and the mechanics are the best. They bent over backwards to make sure we were happy with the finished project. Call 'em. I bet you will have a similar experience. The price was competitive too and right on budget.
