It's so hard to believe that anyone could have a bad experience here. This is by far the best veterinary practice I've ever been to. Just having moved here and not having a vet, I went after just a phone call to have my very old lab euthanized. Dr. Smith was encouraging and asked that we try antibiotic treatment first. He was price conscience, professional yet extremely compassionate. We were so fortunate that his office was the closest one to our house because that's how we chose the best vet ever!!

Very knowledgeable vet and a courteous staff. I get the feeling that they are their to help animals, not just make money.

I have just read Shannon H.'s review of this veterinary practice. I was sorry to hear of the condition of her dog. I hope it recovered. However, my experience with the clinic has been quite different. I met Dr. Smith when my horse destroyed his leg in a pasture accident. Dr. was calm, empathetic and efficient. He was exactly the person *I* needed in the situation. He not only ended my boy's pain, but helped me not to go to pieces. I have since taken my animals to Athens Regional Veterinary. The staff has always been friendly and supportive, and Dr. Smith is invariably willing to explain the situation and give wise and considered advice. I would recommend Athens Regional Veterinary to anyone with a four legged friend that needs medical care.

I would not recommend this vet for care of any kind for your little furry loved one. Dr. Smith's bed side manner along with his staff (front desk and all) is dull, dry and down right rude to say the least. I had to make the difficult decision to take my dog to be put down due to a cancer diagnosis and these so called professionals just treated us like "okay, whatever". I'm sure they see and do this everyday, but that's NO excuse. I walk in carrying my baby because he can no longer walk and that Dr. Smith makes a comment under his breath about my dog not being on a leash. Seriously? People trust you with their loved ones who are truly like family, especially at such a difficult time and its a slap in the face when you don't treat it as such. Do yourself and your dog a favor and go somewhere else for ANY kind of care. Staff is rude, rude, rude. 0 stars in my book.

I would like to let everyone know this is one vet you will love and be able to trust with your pet. He saw our dog when she had an infection because of a flea allergy. They the cheapest on pet meds, too. I am a low income dog lover and did not want to have to give up my babies. My sons would be heart broken. The office staff is so...... helpful! They assisted my 15yr old with two bulldogs because I am handicapped. They do not recommend any procedures that are not absolutely needed. They make sure that you can afford it. I have found that the comfortis flea pill is the best and healthiest way to treat them for fleas. Comfortis is $16.00 or more at other vets. It is only around $13.00 (based on the dog or animals weight). Well THANK YOU again for being such helpful and nice people. Sincerely, Dixie(boxer bulldog), Mindy, William, & James

I met Dr. Vincent Smith and his assistant Sam one late Sunday afternoon. My 4-legged baby, a 2 yr old Aussie/Border Collie Mix was hit by a truck - Thank God, my sister knew Vincent and Sam; she called them and within a matter of minutes we were on our way with me in the back of a pickup holding my baby, trying to maintain control. Vincent and Sam were Wonderful!.. So Calm, but totally comforting and in control. Vincent examined her & asked if I believed in Miracles - because he did. We went through several weeks of casts & bandages & at one point she lost her cast just before a major little league game - Sam & Vincent met us at the ball field & put a new one on.. My son and I... and "Sassy" believe Dr. Vincent Smith is the "Miracle Doctor."! Thank YOU & Sam both!!! Sarah and Joseph

I love Dr. Smith, Dr. Cooper, and the staff at RVS! They did all that they could to make our old dog's last days comfortable and happy. When my old cat got sick, they ensured her surgery would be safe before operating. I like the way that they take time to really listen to my concerns and questions. I've worked in vet hospitals in the past that lacked a sense of caring, but I really feel that everyone at RVS truly cares! I read a review that complained about waiting time. I have never had to wait for long, but I would understand a long wait since Dr. Smith is also a large animal vet. I wouldn't want to pull him away from "birthing a baby"! :-)

We've taken our animals to Dr. Smith for several years so we've known him even before the opening of the new clinic on Lexington Road. During this time he has helped us take very good care of our dogs, cats, sheep and goats. We wish him the best of luck in growing his new business.

While I have found the staff here to be extremely nice, so far they are not as reliable as I would expect. I have waited for over an hour to see the vet, only to be told that he wasn't in the office, and the vet tech was unable to reach him at all. He never showed up.When they have said that they will call me back, they haven't. When I gave up on waiting and called them, they stated that they had called, but I had no messages or missed calls on my phone. They told me that they would mail me a report, I am still waiting on it well over a week later.Everyone that I have dealt with there has been pleasant and I have absolutely no problems with the treatment that they have given my animals. I think they are competent and caring people, but they really need to work on communicating and following through with patients. The location is very close to my house and I would like to continue to go there, but I'm unsure if I will unless there are some improvements in those areas.

If you are new to the area or looking to change vets then you owe it to yourself to check out Dr. Vincent Smith and his wonderful staff. I first met him when my horse coliced on a Sunday and I could not get my regular vet. He has a brand new state of the art animal hospital as well as still making farm calls. large animal and small animal **** One Vet for all your Pets****Sabra Rockwell
