Astro Auto Wrecking

Horrible business practices. Do not recommend them to anyone for anything. Shoddy mechanical work. Horrible sales practices, ie sell used cars that were wrecked without inspections. Use junk parts to repair cars then sell them to the public as reliable cars but with only a 30 day policy.

This is not a company I am proud to say I worked for. I witnessed many illegal things such as oil and old gas being poured inside of cars and other vehicles to dispose of it. They cut up truck, car and huge semi truck tires and stuff them into vans or other large vehicles to dispose of them. The cars get crushed and sold to large scrap buyers for the same price as steel. Ripping off other businesses is just one of the practices. They also sell rebuilt wrecked vehicles as road worthy by getting them from people who need the cash or are given them to dispose of. Rather than disposing of them they have mechanics rebuild them and sell them as good cars even though they may have needed to be inspected by the state before going on the road. They sell parts out of the wrecked cars for close to the same price you would pay for new if you check around. I have known a lot of others who worked there and have nothing good to say about it except at the time they needed to work. The employees work around hazardous materials and are given no protective clothing or even glasses or gloves. The employees are expected to buy their own clothes and if you have ever worked in this line of business you know how many clothes you end up thowing away. They laugh about getting in cars without titles and crush them before anyone knows. They hire illegals from other countries and work the heck out of them. They are paid in cash so they do not show up on the books. IRS would be interested in this I bet. It goes on and on. Please do not associate with this company otherwise you just perpetuate the same mentality. Look what just happened to Penn State for the ones in the know continuing to perpetuate the problem.
