Big Smiles Family Dentistry

my son was a pt @ big smiles on walnut 05-28-2014 my son had TREATMENT done had a papoose put on him.. they told me he was going to have only 2fillings and 1 crown. when my son came out they told me he had a total of 6fillings done to him.. later that evening i took my son a bath he had 2 big bruises on his shoulders i sign a consent form for treatment not to have my son held down hard enough to have his shoulders bruised. I pacifically said to the front desk and the dental asst. if he would to cry to please refer us out so he can be sedated after i told front desk that she went back to check on my son she came back and said he was not crying his was doing find that they had him on nitrous. when my son came out he look scared and stiff my son eyes has lil red dots from him yelling or crying so much his bruises are big .also when we got in our car my son told me that the lady pulled his hair. i understand that the dr has to make production but if you see the pt crying and fighting to make u stop why keep going very unprofessional dr should of refer us out my son is now traumatized

my desire outcome is:

parents should be let in back or even outside of tx room his a minor. a papoose should not be used if treatment and child is unable to cooperate you should not have to hold pt down . refers should be made being tide down for so long/crying in a papoose could cause pt to urine on their self or even have them traumatized for the rest of their lives.

everyone is so nice my kid love it there!! my son always loves getting the balloons there that they give them. dr shir is awesome with my kid!!

Girls in front are really nice. Doctor really honest about what you need and explain it to where you can understand what it means..

Everyone is so friendly!! My son was so nervous about going to the dentist because of a bad experience. The doctor and assistants did a show and tell about what was going to be done and calmed him down. Everything was explained to me and they answered all my millions of questions. I will definitely be coming back again.

I had to right a review here i took my son there and everyone was really nice. My son was a bit nervous but the doctor talk him through it. there super nice so not sure how this place would ever get bad ratings. I love it only negative thing they do not have video games for the kids to play but everything else was great.

I hate this place. I took my two year old daughter there and the dentist did not know what he was doing. He looked at her teeth for like 2 min. and said it looks like it can be a cavities or food. Then he said he can give her the laughing gas and use a papoose and they didnt explain anything at all. How are you going to tie up a two year old!! After that I left I did not trust them and the staff was rude. They did not want to give me any information. I took her somewhere else and she DID NOT HAVE ANY CAVITIES AT ALL. Now imagine if I would have agree to the treatment he was going to do, what would he have done if there was nothing wrong with her.

NEVER TAKE YOUR KIDS HERE!!!!! rude people work there, they write on a post it note, and on top of that they will NOT let go in the back with your child..and he was only 4 yrs old how crazy is that....

I will never be going back to this place ever again! They wouldn't allow us back with our child and when she was done on the way home my husband noticed they cut her mouth up! The dental assistant was actually nice, but the dentist was very rude.
