Gonzalez Tires

Took four wheels to Gonzalez Tires today just to have the tires removed. Stood right at the entrance of the tire shop while the tech on duty went to work removing them. The very first wheel he got to, he used the pry bar with so much force that it bent the lip on my wheel. Right in front of me. I knew he saw it too because he stood there looking at it for a good 20 seconds before flipping the wheel over and trying from the other side. When I showed him what he'd done, and that I'd seen it, he immediately denied it. I knew I was in for an uphill battle.

The two girls who were "in charge" then came in and called the owner, who immediately said the machine couldn't bend a rim. That's true. The machine is designed not to damage wheels, WHEN THE OPERATOR IS COMPETENT. But if you take a thick metal pry bar to a relatively thin wheel lip, the lip will give way.

I've had the same tires mounted to those wheels since they were built (3pc wheels). I showed them that there was no damage to the tire where the bend was, indicating that the damage was not caused by an impact. It was too smell a bend, and too localized to be a pothole. Got nowhere. I'll be in tomorrow to see if the owner will do anything about the situation, at which time I'll up my rating.

For now, I'm stuck with the repair build, which can hopefully be carried out easily, as it would take weeks to have another custom lip manufactured for this wheel.

I bought two cars from this location for cash and I find doing business with them to be very stressful.

Last week I got my whole suspension work done on a 2005 Mercedes Benz. They gave me the best and affordable price. Everyone else would be taxing on the prices knowing it was a Mercedes. But I went their and they gave me the cheapest prices I had ever heard in my life to fix my car. All of my suspension work was done in one day and my car was driving like if it was a 2015 brand new car. I will be back to Gonzalez tires for sure.

I do daily business with Gonzalez tires. They have the best prices and they treat me good. They did my tires really fast and right. The best part is that they open on Sunday. They also have affordable prices.

DO NOT take any of your vehicles to Gonzalez Tires, they are a rip-off. I took my truck there and got my front and rear rotors and brake pads replaced, starting hearing noise, took it back, they told me that's how new brake pads sound. I wasn't pleased with their answer. Not even a week I went back, they drove it and heard the sounds that I was hearing and replaced the front rotors and pads again, I paid $40 labor for this. I went back up there on Saturday, January 12, 2013 they HEARD, I mean they HEARD me pulling up that's how LOUD my brakes are, i was told it's how I apply my brakes that's why it sounds like this. I have filed a complaint with the BBB.
