South Beach Apartments

Although the price is competitive for "like" properties near the ocean front, this is not the best property I have ever lived in. The cabinetry is old and fiber board, the appliances are outdated and counter tops cheap. The pool area is not family friendly; parties, beer drinking, cigarette smoking, rowdy crowds throwing and kicking balls accross the pool, occupy the pool area on weekends and it isn't always fit for small children.

The biggest negative is the customer focus of the office staff; they are often rude, very unfriendly and not welcoming at all. I have lived in past properties where not only does the staff know your name, but ask about your family and recall past discussions. These girls often act as if you are inconveniencing them when you go to the office. I recall once where one of the staff just looked at me when I walked in and didnt bother to ask if I could be helped. Dont expect any warm welcome when you arrive for move in....they likely have to scramble to figure out where your apartment is and wont even escort you there; just hand you the keys.

The grounds themselves are pretty well maintained and the maintanence staff are very nice and responsive. This has improved over the past couple of years.

I will say that they do try to offer classes, gatherings, social events, etc. for the residents, which is nice. Overall, the apartments are so-so, the office staff is less than acceptable, the maintanence staff very responsive and kind and grounds in good shape. Average place to live and based on rental rates, its 3 stars for me.

Very lovely community and well-kept. Rental prices are competitive (and sometimes better) than other "close to the beach" appartment communities in the area.
